RICHARD WRIGHT

BIOGRAPHY

Growing up in LA, NYC, Tokyo & Paris, Richard evolved into a dynamic photographer with a passion for celebrity portraiture, fashion, and high-end commercial photography — he also loves to synthesize extreme graphic realism with classical sensibility. This dualism has distinguished his work in Vogue, L’Officiel Homme, and W… just to name a few. His photoshoots have featured numerous celebrated artists, including Robert De Niro, Samuel L. Jackson, John Malkovich, Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, and Michael Keaton. Moreover, his work has been exhibited at the Musée de la Mode de Marseille, France.

During the 100 years anniversary of cinema in Paris, Richard began a series of black & white portraits of the ‘Actors’ Actors’. FILM ICON: Hollywood’s Greatest Heavies tenders a glimpse into the souls of these masters of character whose love of the 7th Art is revealed in their touching, insightful and sometimes humorous memories as they spontaneously answered the question: “What inspired you to get into the movies?”

Richard Wright shot & directed his first live action film L’Enchanteur, which he also wrote and dedicated to the fight against A.I.D.S. It was ultimately selected for competition in numerous international film festivals including, Avignon-New York, Chamrousse, Beirut, Lille, Deauville, and in the end won the Best Short Fantasy Film Award at Fantasporto.
